It’s just a short walk from the Parkhotel to the lively town centre of Valkenburg aan de Geul. Visit the marl caves, the castle ruins, and the Velvet Cave or take a ride on the cableway. And during the winter months, make sure you don’t miss the famous Christmas market.

Heuvelland hilly country

The Heuvelland hilly country in Limburg is a region of the Netherlands with a distinctly foreign flavour. The rolling landscape with its beautiful nature and picturesque villages is particularly suitable for walks, bike rides, or to completely unwind.


The nearby city of Maastricht has a rich history, a fantastic shopping centre with many boutiques, charming squares with café terraces, and picturesque streets. Maastricht gives many people the impression of being abroad!


Aachen is a beautiful German city only a 30 minute drive away from Valkenburg. This historical cathedral city has many shops, interesting sights, and museums.


Liège is the capital of the Belgian province of Liège. The city is situated on the River Meuse, approximately 60 minutes drive away from Valkenburg. This historical city is well-known for its waffles, interesting sights, and various museums.



Shopaholics can shop to their heart’s content in the fashion-conscious cities of Maastricht and Aachen or visit the nearby outlet shopping centres of Maasmechelen Village and Designer Outlet Roermond.

Walking & cycling
